it seriously is time for me to move onto a grown up blog.

| hi everybody!!  okay. so i just fucking was writing and then it clicked me out of this stupid page. i had already written like a freakin novel. i'm angry now. fuck you xanga.
Anyways! lol So once again it has been approximately one million years since i last wrote in this thing. Sorry about that. Its not like you really care right lol. but um. i decided to write again cuz my freakin boyfriend wants me to. he's obsessed with my xanga and seeing how much of a loser i used to be.

- I am currently a 2nd year at Davis, majoring in Chicana/o Studies and probably International Relations as well, with an emphasis in Global and Environmental Health.. and most likely a minor in Sexuality Studies. Because i love sexuality. everyone should be open about theirs. [:
- I work at the Student Recruitment and Retention Center... it's a student run and student initiated center that focuses on improving outreach and retention rates of students of color... specifically students of historically underrepresented communities. My component (there's 6) is Yik'al Kuyum, it targets the Chicana/o Latina/o community specifically. I work with outreach, coordinating campus visits and shadowing programs at the university.... i get to work with little high school and middle school kids! exciting.
 The whole idea of it rocks my socks off, but work is still work ya know. - I have an incredible boyfriend. Who does shit like sits and copy and pastes my entry for me so my dumbass won't erase the whole thing again. That's basically all he's good for. LOL jk. he's amazing.. he took me to the zoo and ice skating yesterday. what more could you ask for? Plus, he's like my best fucking friend. we can be watching pineapple express or something one minute and be super cuddly the next. that's my grendel. he's a monster. and today's our 8 month. so happy 8 months maymee!! I love my some MEChA. - Oh, and MEChA has also given me a way to express my passion for dance. I put on a workshop for each of our youth conferences on Music and dance...how it's political and can play an important role in movements and political consciousness. I teach people how to dance. how freakin sweet is that.

How different races hit on or sexually harass girls in the City of Angels
I just went to go get something from my car and several cars with Mexicans in them drove by, honking their horns at me. This got me thinking about the different ways that different races hit on girls in the melting pot that is the City of Angels. This may offend you if you're Mexican, black, white, or Asian... but oh well.
1) Mexicans
Mexicans will honk, whistle, catcall, hoot, use Spanish (Ay yay yay!) and make other indistinguishable noises. I don't know what they think they're going to achieve by doing this because they never actually talk to you. It doesn't matter what age you are because they'll even do this to elementary school girls. Every girl who grew up in LA knows exactly what I'm talking about.
I generally like Hispanic people but in my collective experience, I've found them to be one of the most perverted races (at least in LA).
I've been a victim of the drive-by jack-off on numerous occasions. In fact, my cousin was sitting in her car a couple of weeks ago talking on her cell phone. It was about midnight and she noticed a Mexican dude on the corner, but didn't give it much thought. All of a sudden he was all up on her window jacking off in front of her face!! Luckily her window was closed and she responded by sticking out both her middle fingers at him and yelling out "F*** YOU! F*** YOU! F*** YOU!" She didn't want to show fear because she too has been the victim of many a drive-by jack off.
Another time I was getting into the passenger side of my ex-boyfriend's car when this little Mexican kid who couldn't have been more than 6 years old came up to me with a wicked smile, thrust his pelvis forward and grabbed his little member!!! He then ran back to his laughing friend waiting at the corner and they ran off together. They start young.
2) Blacks
Black guys will look a girl up and down and say something like, "Daaaaaaaaaammmmnnnnn girl you be looking fine!!" Sometimes they will lean back, widen their eyes and cup their hand over their mouth for added emphasis when saying the "Daaaaammmmnnnn" Or they'll go, "Um, Um, Um." Black guys tend to be the most generous with the compliments but also do the most head-swiveling, unabashed ogling.
My friend who has a big ol' bootie always gets hit on by black guys though. I think it's definitely true that they like more junk in the trunk.
3) Whites
White guys will come up to you acting really friendly and say something like "Hi, I'm Bob. You have a really nice smile," or some other cheesy compliment.
It’s easier to be mean to white guys because they’re usually nice. They always try to strike up a conversation and make small talk like "Who are you here with?", "Are you having a good time??" or "Hi, I’m a corny doofus with no game.".
4) Asians
Asian guys will stare at you from afar but generally don't have the guts to come up and talk to you (unless they're really drunk or really ugly, in which case they have nothing to lose). They also bust that move where they dance beside you, hoping you'll let them join your circle of dancing girls. Did Asian guys invent that?
Because Asian guys don't talk to girls, someone invented booking clubs. In Korean clubs, "booking" is the phenomenon when a waiter brings/drags girls to a table of guys thereby facilitating a hook-up/love connection without the guy having to make any real effort or face rejection.
One of my most traumatic sexual harassment experiences was with a Korean dude when I was in elementary school. I was walking home from school and this guy in his mid thirties was sitting in his car and asked me for directions in Korean. I started to tell him when I noticed that this mother f***er had no pants on and was jacking off. He also had a pair of red zebra striped thongs on his lap. I remember it so vividly. I didn't know what to say or do! I ran away, but he turned his car around and followed me for a while. I lost him eventually or he gave up because we were on such a busy street. That was some traumatic stuff. I was too scared to tell my parents because I thought they would totally freak out and never let me leave the house alone again. This episode was particularly shocking because Asian people are generally conservative and none of my friends have had similar experiences with them. Asians are just closet pervs in denial.
I have been the victim of all these pick-up tactics and sexual harassment. You see what girls have to put up with our whole lives?

anywhooo!! i've been a-workin at Companion Animal Hospital...running around with the doggies and kitties and bunnies and guinea pigs and even chinchillas when i'm lucky. :)
